Geared toward beginners but all levels are welcome. Our teaching methods allow us to handle even experienced fly casters. Indoor and outdoor sessions are evenly divided, with the main emphasis placed on developing proper casting skills. The goal is to have students exit the program with the ability to handle 30 foot plus casts effectively, have a thorough understanding of fly selection, leaders, knot tying skills, stream entomology, reading water, etiquette, and the application/use of related gear and equipment in both moving and still water. We also encourage the appreciation for fine tackle and emphasize the importance of the catch-and-release ethic, and a clean, healthy outdoor environment.

Class sizes are limited with a ratio of student to instructor never exceeding 4:1. The school staff will issue the appropriate equipment for use during the school. Lunches are included in the tuition fee of $470 per person. Dates for the Dogwood Canyon Schools are as follows:
